Los Angeles' Most Expensive Spa Treatment
Spa Treatment
What: $1,000 Spa Treatment
Where: Voda Spa
Price: $1,000
Justification: It's like a brothel that specializes in foreplay and really nice towels
Richard's Take
Whenever Spa Day is approaching (it's on the first and third Wednesdays of every month), I tend to get giddier than Fallout Boy in the make-up section (consider yourself warned: if you ever find yourself trying eye shadow in Macy's and see Pete Wentz headed your way, you can assume he'll immediately steal your spotlight by simultaneously applying mascara and yell-singing something about male scarves).
Of course, giddiness is only one of the emotions I feel on Spa Day. There's also the anxiety of making sure your lipo scars have had time to heal (it's horribly embarrassing to hear the masseuse giggle at your love handles). Then there's the sadness of knowing this day won't come again for another two weeks, and the suspense of wondering wether this will be the day that you finally get the short boyish-looking, deep-voiced, spiky-haired woman who's always talking about Melissa Etheridge to accept your offer of lighthearted strap-on play.

The $1,000 Spa Treatment includes the use of Voda Spa's VIP Room. The room comes equipped with a personal bathroom, a private sauna, a separate treatment room, a large whirlpool tub, and more. During the treatment, trained masseuses, Alex and Victoria work in unison to relieve tension. Then those four hands pour champagne on your body to stimulate blood flow before the body scrub. The scrub, prepared tableside, includes mango, ginger, papaya, and soy cream, which hydrates your skin beautifully. And yes, it is edible, but it is very, very sweet.
Finally, Mirta, who has been an aesthetician for over forty years, tends to your face. Using the 100% sustainable LaRocca product line, Mirta washes away all signs of
stress. Voda Spa has been instrumental in helping LaRocca further develop their products, which include
24K gold nanoflecks. The tiny particles may be too small to see in the product, but their results are undeniable.
Inspired by Old-World tradition, Voda Spa provides a sanctuary from the unavoidable stress, a.k.a. collateral damage, of living in Los Angeles. As L.A.'s premier day resort, Voda Spa encourages guests to unwind beneath their roof in
Russian banyas (one wet, one dry), the Turkish wet steam bath, or the pool before and after their treatments. Guests can also refresh themselves rooftop on the sundeck.
Further emphasizing the importance of wellbeing, Voda Spa is responding to our current economic situation in two ways. First, the responsible offer-a $99 Spa Day package that includes a mini facial, a 20-minute
massage, a berry body scrub, and lunch in their café. Second, the above, drop-your-jaw offer-the $1,000 Spa Treatment, the most expensive in Los Angeles.
With their top-of-the-line products and state-of-the-art
VIP Room, Voda Spa is the perfect place to reward yourself with that tax refund.
