It's a numbers game, really. Jon and Kate became one after their 1999 marriage, popped out two twin girls, and then had sextuplets, making a grand total of eight children, ten Gosselins, and one TV show that has generated hundreds of pages worth of scandal in the past few weeks.
As if fathering eight children weren't enough, Jon spends a great deal of energy deflecting his Momzilla wife, Kate. The couple's TV confessionals always feature a subdued Jon, who twirls strands of what's left of his prematurely balding head of hair while deflecting a nitpicky blowup by Kate (my personal favorite was the passionate stomping fit she displayed after Jon forgot to use coupons at the grocery store). And now-gasp-there is controversy.
College-style partying, possible cheating, and shunned family members speaking out have all punctuated our favorite family train wreck, but the most recent piece of news about Kate allowing her crumbling husband just $5 daily has got to take the cake... More >> ..
In her autobiography Call Me Crazy, Anne Heche claims to have an alter ego named Celestia, who proclaims herself the daughter of God and the half-sister of Jesus.
But wait-there's more. Media speculation swirled about her estranged sister and Christian psychotherapist mother, but amid the muck of her public image bobbed one yearning question: why the hell did she break up with Ellen?
Around the same time that Heche starred in Psycho, the flickering switch of her sexuality left the public wondering who this blonde girl with daddy issues really was and why she was holding the hand of America's favorite lesbian. Ellen DeGeneres has since moved on to the younger, hotter Portia de Rossi (who, coincidentally was married to a man before Ellen-the flip side of Anne Heche, who married a man after Ellen), and Heche has ended up in the public eye yet again.
Bringing a painful close to her five-year marriage to Coley Laffoon, Heche's two-year divorce battle ended in a $515,000 settlement that will line the pockets of her ex, along with a $3,700 monthly allowance... More >> ..
Steve Wynn and Elaine Pascal are splitting again. As partners in life and business, Las Vegas' famed couple has rolled out some of Sin City's finest hotels, including the Mirage, the Bellagio, and the golden Wynn and Encore towers. Now, however, it seems that they are preparing to play separate hands-or perhaps round two of the divorce game is their way of doubling down on a potential "third time's the charm" winning hand in marriage.
In the eighties, they took a five-year hiatus from their marriage, reportedly because Wynn had succumbed to Vegas' many devilish ways, but they eventually rekindled their relationship. With two children from their first marriage and Elaine's continued presence as a board member at Wynn Resorts, the odds highly favored a reunion.
For eighteen years, the Wynns let it ride for a second time, but now Wynn is coloring up-or down, as the community property town may have it... More >> ..
Actress Denise Richards has been making the media rounds for her new E! reality show, It's Complicated. But it's not like she needs the money. Richards reportedly receives $60,000 per month in alimony from ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, as well as $52,000 per month in child support for their two daughters, Sam and Lola. That adds up to $112,000 per month, which can buy a pretty lavish lifestyle - and fund an ongoing ugly battle with Sheen. As Richards now knows, nothing pays off like a messy, public divorce from another celebrity. Makes me wonder if that's why she married him in the first place. Sure, Ferris Bueller-era Charlie was a bad boy to die for, but post-Wall Street he'd surely lost his sheen. Richards' foresight inspires me.
Mel Gibson's divorce from his wife of 28 years could cost the actor millions of dollars, according to celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder. Gibson and his wife, Robyn Moore, were married in 1980. Since there's no indication that a prenuptial agreement was made, it seems that Moore is entitled to half of everything Gibson has earned since the beginning of their marriage-and estimates for her share are over the $500 million mark. Gibson's 2004 movie The Passion of the Christ alone earned $600 million worldwide, which means that the Gibson split is the most moneyed Hollywood divorce ever, surpassing even Steven Spielberg's $100 million divorce in 1989 from actress Amy Irving.
Recently Pocket Change reported on the divorce settlement of former Bay Watch star and soon-to-be member of AA, David Hasselhoff, and his wife of sixteen years, Pamela Bach The pricey divorce settlement set The Hoff back $1 million, plus $25,000 a month in spousal and child support for his ex-wife and their two teenage daughters. Now it looks like the actor is trying to cut a few corners financially. On Wednesday, May 7th, Hasselhoff filed papers with L.A. County Court requesting that his $8,400 in legal fees be deducted from the amount he's been ordered to pay Bach. Leave it to The Hoff to try to weasel out of paying his lawyer. But with that much alimony looming on the horizon, we don't blame the guy for wanting to pinch a few pennies.
I've waited for this day for ages: Men finally have equal rights in divorce settlements as compared to women. Take that Gloria Steinem!
Then a few days later, my hopes and dreams are squashed when Madge and Guy denied Liz Rosenberg's statement.
Seriously, what man wouldn't lease Madonna's body for eight years for free, let alone for the sickest divorce settlement ever? Even if Rosenberg's statement is false, Guy will receive the Ashcombe House in western England and their west London pub the Punchbowl, as Madonna is ditching England for Manhattan. I wonder if she'll keep her accent, or did guy snag that too?
Guy Ritchie continues to make less than mediocre movies that all have the same plot and characters as his only decent film, 1998's "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels... More >> ..
Christie Brinkley's estranged husband Peter Cook has quite a bit of explaining to do. Cook's very public affair with Diana Bianchi began in 2004 when Bianchi just hit legal and was hired to type up magazine articles for $20,000, among other throws of cash for hanky panky totaling over $300,000.
Kimora Lee Simons, CEO of Baby Phat, and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmon, who were married in 1998, have finalized their divorce after a two-year being separation. Kimora Lee has obtained sole custody of daughters Ming, 8, and Aoki, 5. Russell was awarded time with the girls one week of every eight, plus extra time for summer vacations and holidays. He has been ordered to pay Simons $480,000 per year in child support, in addition to $20,000 per child per year until the girls turn 19 1/2. Finally, he's required to buy or lease a car valued at $60,000 or more once every 24 months to satisfy the girls' transportation needs. While many would be bitter when faced with demands involving such extreme sums, Russell doesn't appear too bothered. "Regarding the money, my kids live a tremendous life. They do have lots of security, nannies, educators, special programs, travel, chefs, on and on. Their mother manages all of those luxuries and I'm happy to provide for that," he stated...

Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been noticeably on the rocks for the past year, and have now officially made it known that they will be splitting up. Sounds easy, right? Well, Madonna didn't have Guy sign a prenuptial agreement, and now he's after her cash.
Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff's divorce was settled in Los Angeles on Thursday, with the Hoff agreeing to pay $25,000 a month in alimony and child support. Hasselhoff's ex-wife, Pamela Bach, will receive $21,000 a month, while daughters Taylor (17) and Hayley (15), will receive $4,000 a month. The former couple, who divorced in 2006 after over 16 years of marriage, have joint custody of their daughters. They also agreed to joint ownership of their San Fernando Valley home, their cars, bank accounts, and Hasselhoff's pensions from acting and directing guilds. But Hasslehoff did get to keep a few things for his own: primarily, the naming rights to his monikers, including "The Hoff," and "Malibu Dave."
Aw, poor Dave must be having a rough time of it, but a pricey, messy divorce is a rite of passage for every Hollywood star.
Dream on, Heather!
Greedy fantasist Heather Mills' mind-boggling list of demands totaled a whopping $250 million, according to the explosive 58-page court judgment released Tuesday.
What she finally got was just under $50 million - $34,000 for every day of her four-year marriage.
The judge in the case called Mills' wish list "completely unrealistic," "extraordinarily exaggerated" and "ridiculous." Here's the breakdown:
* $738,000 for Heather's own security.
* $352,000 for Beatrice's security
* $251,000 a year for clothes.
* Ownership of four homes: one in Beverly Hills, worth $6 million, and another on Long Island and two in England with a combined value of $11.4 million.
* $16 million-$25.1 million to buy a home in London.
* $6 million to buy property in New York
* $1.5 million to buy an office in Brighton, England - for her sister, Fiona...
